Sonu Nigam is under fire from Zee Network because he shared a video in support of AAP leader Kumar Vishwas. The video in question revealed the ‘truth’ behind a segment Zee News put up. Zee News apparently showed Kumar Vishwas asking a coworker ‘latak gaya?‘ which means ‘has he hung himself?‘ at a rally in New Delhi which was marred by the suicide of a farmer.
Sonu, in Kumar’s defence, tweeted a video which showed that Kumar never mouthed the words ‘latak gaya?‘. Something on the lines of this:
I am far from politics but I feel this truth should come out for the sake of my poet friend Kumar Vishwas. https://t.co/E4QWJrgg6c

Sonu clarified that he is not inclined to support any political party, just the truth.
Glad 2 see a nice response 2 my tweet last night. My duty is 2 be rational. True 2 what I see. Irrespective of d party or d person. — Sonu Nigam (@sonunigam) April 27, 2015
He also gave the news channel the benefit of doubt.
It’s a simple case of some1 close 2 d cameras uttering those words. Not mischievously but by chance perhaps. It’s only fair, 2 be fair. Love

Even after the alleged ban on him by Zee Network, he didn’t seem too perturbed.
So now Zee announces a ban on me. :) What do I say.. God bless everyone. — Sonu Nigam (@sonunigam) April 28, 2015
And mused about the fact that bans are the biggest enemies of a functioning democracy.
Wonder should it not be illegal to ban someone on the pretext of nothing in a democracy? Influencing others to not work with an individual.
