TBH, we didn’t expect so much shimmer and shine for Lakmé Fashion Week Summer Resort 2018. The trendsetters have a new story to tell this season. Of course, the easy breezy vibes and experimental silhouettes are a major part of the runway, but designers are adding a dash of glam to everything. We can’t help but love it. Here’s the round-up of the collections that showcased on Day 4 of LFW:
Saaksha & Kinni
Talk about adding a burst of colours to your wardrobe this season and Saaksha & Kinni’s collection will be there for you. The effortless shapes and the drama of the layers got us in the mood. We especially loved their take on the cravat for women.
Aikeyah
If you think the combo of black and white is quite boring, the Aikeyah’s lineup might change your perception. The different textures that made the ensembles were brilliantly executed.
Verandah
Looking for a perfect resort wear? Verandah’s new edit will have you packed for a summer vacay, right away! The easy breezy silhouettes, crochet layers, oversized bags and head scarves were all the elements that made this showcase flawless.
Anushree Reddy
Anushree Reddy just hits the jackpot when it comes to dressing a summer bride. The pastel shades, intricate work and modern silhouettes made her collection a success. Sania Mirza looked beautiful as she walked the ramp for the designer.
SVA By Sonam & Paras Modi
With intricate embroidery work and contrasting separates, the display of SVA by Sonam & Paras Modi’s collection was stunning. The menswear in monochrome tones had a similar effect and looked perfect for a summer wedding.
Shriya Som
If you are ever planning to attend a summer soiree, then Shriya Som’s collection will be a perfect fit in such a setting. The elaborate gowns with puffy silhouettes, embellished details and modern touch had us swooning. Disha Patani looked ethereal on the runway in a ruffled gown in the shade of onion pink.
Caprese x Nishka Lulla
Keeping true to the essence of her brand, Nishka Lulla showcased a preppy collection that every girl would want to have in their wardrobe. She teamed her vibrant ensembles with some chic bags from Caprese. Saiyami Kher walked the ramp for this show looking fresh as a daisy.
Sanjukta Dutta
Blending rich textiles from North East India with modern silhouettes, Sanjukta Dutta presented a collection that was indigenous yet relevant for modern times. Dia Mirza was the stunning showstopper for this show and walked the ramp in an elegant ochre-gold sari teamed with contrasting red blouse.
Ashwini Reddy
Ornate gold work, billowy lehengas and floral prints were the highlights from Ashwini Reddy’s collection. Tamannah Bhatia made a stellar entry in a cold-shoulder, ruffle sleeves choli that was paired with a heavy embellished red lehenga.
Shloka Sudhakar
Shola Sudhakar’s lineup excelled in the concept of complementing colours that make for a great combination. The separates had their own feature and could be mixed and matched easily. Nidhhi Agerwal looked elegant in a modern take on lehenga choli.
Reshma Kunhi
We felt that Reshma Kunhi’s collection was designed for the bride’s entourage. We can easily pick any of the gorgeous ensembles from the collection to wear for our friend’s wedding. Bipasha Basu was the glamorous showstopper of the show in a one-off-shoulder top and lehenga combo.
Payal Singhal
Payal Singhal enchanted us all with a monochrome collection that was filled with embellished, intricate details. If that wasn’t magical enough, we had Aditi Rao Hydari, looking breathtaking as always, in a stellar lehenga choli.
Kotwara
To describe in one word, Kotwara’s showcase was spellbinding. The designs not only explored the elegance of the grayscale but the romantic silhouettes gave it a more surreal feel. Also, it is not easy to forget the jaw-dropping entry of Sushmita Sen on the runway, as she stunned the audience with her regal grace.
Princess Pea X Lovebirds
Princess Pea x Lovebirds presented a collection that had the perfect summer silhouettes anyone would love to own this season. The showcase projected the message ‘What about me if I only think of You?’ through a monologue in the background, that made this a unique fashion presentation.
Shantanu & Nikhil
Day 4 finale was by Shantanu & Nikhil, and what a show it was. The collection, as always, was sartorially on point and the embellishments were edgier this time. Saif Ali Khan honoured the runway brigade and closed the showcase in an asymmetric bandgala. He portrayed the story of the collection with his regal charm and engulfed the audience.
