Burberry is known for its iconic plaid design, one that it blends seamlessly with every product they make. From scarves, perfumes, dresses, to trench coats and more. This season of London Fashion Week will be a bittersweet one for the brand. The sweet bit is that Burberry‘s Autumn/Winter 2018  collection will incorporate the colours of the LGBTQ+ emblem in a new rainbow check pattern to show support and encouragement for the community. As for the bitter part, this season will be Chief Creative Officer & President, Christopher Bailey‘s last collection.

He joined the brand in 2001 and has been the reason behind their exponential growth over the years. He’s gone from being a Design Director to the President of Burberry in a span of 17 years and Bailey plans to make his exit in the most iconic way. With this last rainbow-inspired collection, Bailey has understood the importance of inclusivity, acceptance, and unity. The proceeds from the brand will be making donations to the Albert Kennedy Trust, the Trevor Project amongst other organizations that encourage and support the LGBTQ+ communities. He has been the brains behind the brand’s design for as long as we can remember but his exit with the rainbow flag flowing high truly is a, an iconic fashion moment in itself.

“My final collection here at Burberry is dedicated to — and in support of — some of the best and brightest organizations supporting LGBTQ youth around the world. There has never been a more important time to say that in our diversity lies our strength, and our creativity,”

Christopher Bailey says, as seen in an article on WWD.

Here below is the rainbow incorporated design that will be showcased at London Fashion Week at the end of February.

Are you excited to see the whole collection? We absolutely cannot wait!
