Khadi, as a fabric, has an intensely emotional appeal in the Indian subcontinent and over the years, many designers have explored this humble, spun cotton fabric by giving it a high fashion twist.
Designers Kanika Seth and Mehak Pruthi’s new collection (under their label, Threesome) which will be debuted at Lakme Fashion Week explores khadi and in their own words, “Captures the essence of the Indian who lives in the hustle and bustle of the big cities but still makes that connection with tradition.”
The collection, called Embryo, is defined by sophisticated lines and modern prints and is inspired by the Rococo period.
Look out for their show on Saturday 24th August at 5:15pm.
