On the face of it, this T-shirt by Marc Jacobs looks pretty neat and non-controversial to the point of being just another white tee with a graphic print on the front.
But who would have guessed it would evoke memories of a Neo-Nazi rock group from the nineties and thus, create a stir in the fashion world?
Back in 1997, punk-rock group, Skrewdriver, released an album called Boots & Braces and a similar image (of two boots) was used on the cover of the LP. Needless to add, their songs had obnoxiously racist lyrics.
Since then, no one remembered they existed until Marc Jacobs released this T-shirt and rumours began to circulate that the brand was promoting Neo-Nazi propaganda.

Not wanting to offend anybody’s sentiments, Marc Jacob’s has pulled out the offending tee from their stores and released a statement, saying, “We were not trying to make a connection to that band or make a statement of any kind. We have removed the stock of the shirt from our own stores and offer our retail partners the same opportunity.”
However, we hear it’s still available at Saks Fifth Avenue and is priced at $70.
