Within a span of a day, two very hot Bollywood stars sported crop-tops at red-carpet events.
Deepika Padukone wore a crop-top by Shehlaa Khan for the Star Guild Awards and Neha Dhupia wore a crop-top by Payal Singhal for a lifestyle exhibition which she inaugurated in Mumbai.
An extensive brows through our archives proved that the crop-top is a fashion staple among our Bollywood folk and everybody – from Priyanka Chopra to Surveen Chawla – have worked this look over the past year.
What this trend tells us is that these ladies have no qualms about showing off their gym-toned midriffs and are actually proud to flaunt their washboard abs.
Take a look at some of the Bollywood hotties who have carried off this look with pizzazz over the past year:
EVELYN SHARMA
Fresh faced and always fashion forward, Evelyn Sharma wore this Nishka Lulla crop-top with a matching long skirt. The yellow and white checks make this look very happy and bright.
SONAM KAPOOR
Sonam Kapoor has also worn this design by Nishka Lulla. except, hers was plain blue and she accessorized it with a Louis Vuitton bag, a fishtail braid and flat footwear. Chic!
FREIDA PINTO
Reflecting the pristine blue and white colours of Cannes was Freida Pinto who wore this lovely geometric-print crop-halter with an A-line skirt for a photo op-op at the iconic film festival. It’s refreshing to look at it and scores high on our fashion meter.
SURVEEN CHAWLA
Keeping it uber sexy by pairing her origami-style crop-top (by Astha Narang) with a zip-up leather skirt, Surveen Chawla shows us how to make a dramatic impact on the red carpet.
PRIYANKA CHOPRA
Even though she has a banging hot body, Priyanka Chopra shows us how to cover up and still ooze sexiness. Wearing a short denim jacket over her crop-top and a pencil-slim skirt, Peecee reminded us of Rihanna in this get-up.
DEEPIKA PADUKONE
This was undoubtedly on of Deepika Padukone’s best looks in the recent past. The lacy crop-top and long skirt by Shehlaa Khan was a clear winner on the red carpet at the Star Guild Awards earlier this week.
NEHA DHUPIA
Giving her ensemble an Indian touch was actress Neha Dhupia. She wore the crop top and skirt with a churidars and a dupatta by Payal singhal, making for an interesting east-meets-west look.
Which of these ladies carried off the crop-top trend the best? Tell us in the comments below.
