TeamMissMalini: This is your maiden showcase at LFW, why did you decide to participate after all these years?
Rajesh Pratap Singh (RPS): Well, a friend of mine called and asked me to do it and so I did.
TeamMM: What’s your take on the Indian Fashion Industry currently – any particular designers you are impressed by?
RPS: Lot of new young talent is now coming up, which is great and a positive thing to take the industry forward. Therefore it will not be correct to name one or few.
TeamMM: Your mood board reflects illusions – can you shed more light on it?
RPS: Everything is an illusion.
TeamMM: Collaborating with a make-up brand – what was the experience like? Did you face any challenges?
RPS: No, it was nice to interact with a young and co-operative team. I am sure both the teams are game to learn from each other.
TeamMM: What has been your most memorable collection?
RPS: Amnesia is something which I have always been accused of; I tend to forget after every collection. The focus is always on the new collection/season.
TeaMM: What does the Indian Fashion Industry future hold?
RPS: Hopefully, a bright one and I sincerely hope that fashion is treated as a trade and the business is taken seriously by all the parties, especially the Indian Government which sees us as nothing but entertainment.
TeamMM: Any advice for a young designers?
RPS: Basically, if the foundation is laid, it’s going to be an interesting and bright journey. So enjoy the ride.
TeamMM: Would you ever take over a fashion house? Any plans to expand your line?
RPS: We keep on experimenting on new things every season and every second. Expansion is a by-product.
