Deepika Padukone sure has a hectic year ahead. The actress attended the trailer launch of her film Ram Leela wearing a sari from Sabyasachi’s couture collection. Unlike the model, who wore her sari with a long sleeved blouse, Deepika chose a sleeveless version. She accessorized with statement pearl earrings and a cocktail ring from Satyanis by Maheep Kapoor. Red lips and an updo rounded off her look. I think she looks absolutely fabulous.

Over the years Barbie has been an inspiration to many young girls (including myself) and we have seen her in endless outfits and looks. This fall the doll will be making a true style statement. Barbie is the new “It” girl for Hervé Léger by Max Azria. The limited edition doll, priced at $150, in collaboration with Mattel will be available by mid-October in two different looks by the brand.

For the first look she is wearing the iconic bandage dress in red with a black corset belt from the fall 2012 collection, black gladiator boots and gold clutch. For the second look she is wearing a black and white jacquard dress with black open-toe booties and a studded clutch. Best part is that Barbie’s looks are also be available in life-size versions.

Vidya Balan Makes a Style Statement for the Famous Lalbaugcha Raja

Critically acclaimed actress, Vidya Balan, sought Lord Ganesha’s blessings at the famed Lalbaugcha Raja in Mumbai. Accompanied by her father, mother, brother, sister-in-law and their twins, Vidya visited the legendary shrine which is famed for granting miracles and wishes of devotees.

She wore a white woven khadi-silk saree with borders woven in checks and stripes in sixteen colours, by Shruti Sancheti. The saree has 3D lotuses hanging from the edges of the pallu.

Says Shruti, “White being a devotional colour, this saree is apt for a religious occasion while the bright coloured border adds that dash of hue to reflect the festivities.”

We like this new, light and restrained look – a departure from the dark hued sarees which other designers would drape her in.

Yep, we can all now take a virtual walk through Gucci’s first men’s flagship store in Europe in Milan’s Brera district, thanks to Gucci’s tie-up with Google. I just tried it and it is pretty cool!

The experience is available via mobile, tablet and desktop through browser and app navigation. On the Google Maps app for Android and iOS, users can access the instore view using the accelerometer that allows navigation simply by moving around one’s device.

Bright, bold red lips and sleek locks rounded off her FROW look.

Anu Malik sure has talented daughters! Anmol is a fantastic singer herself, and we now hear that Ada is a freshman at the Parsons School of Design in New York. She recently held a fashion show to showcase her collection. Here, Anmol Malik gives us the deets on her sister’s talent! xoxo

Ada Malik

Ada is a fresher at the Parsons School of Design, New York, a premier school of fashion where Tom Ford, Jimmy Choo, Donna Karen, and Alexander Wang have all graduated from. She’s 19 and recently held her first ever fashion show, applications for which are only accepted from senior level or graduate students… making her the youngest student so far in their academic history to achieve this!

Her genre is couture – and yes, I’m calling it ‘genre’ because I’m a musician and I really have no clue about fashion! :P The fashion show, called Sisters on the Runway, was held in the same hall on 5th avenue as the popular American television show Project Runway. The dresses (which were designed and sewn by her) were sold and the money collected was given to charity.

She is currently a scholarship student who has just earned her way into the Dean’s list! :)
And yes, I love her a lot… also because I look presentable thanks to her advice! *lol* Have a look at her collection:

Fined! Shah Rukh Khan Goes Grunge

At the start of this blog post, I must assert that we at MissMalini, LOVE Shah Rukh Khan. Yes! We kind of adore his suave charm, his ability to call a spade a spade, his candidness. And even though he’s not a fashion mannequin, we generally like his style which is defined by being effortless.

But for the opening of a jewelry store in Mumbai yesterday, we think the Badshah of Bollywood forgot to look in the mirror before he left Mannat.

How else can you explain his look? While we have absolutely no issues had SRK stuck to just a simple white shirt and black pants, we think the tie worn loosely around his neck does nothing to enhance his look. It looks forced – like he’s trying to channel a nineteen year old college boy.

Also, we think a shave might have helped him look a bit more spiffy!

She paired this look with a gorgeous pair of earrings and a bracelet from Queenie Singh‘s line Jewels by Queenie. Although Shilpa has this incredibly envious body, I feel like this outfit shows tad bit too much skin! Ahem!

She will be seen as a judge once again on the show, along with Terence Lewis and Sajid Khan. Remember her earlier appearance during the launch of the show, where she wore a fitted blue sequin gown by Rajat Tangri? That dress was definitely better that this one.
