At the recently concluded CFDA awards, the winner of the prestigious 2014 Fashion Icon of the Year, Rihanna, showed up in what looked like no clothes at all. How ironic! She raised all eyebrows at the event in a racy sheer Swarovski studded gown accessorized with a feather boa and Manolo Blahnik shoes.

So hold on a minute, first she gets banned from Instagram for nudity and then leaves the platform all together and the next thing you know, she’s all over social media, practically nude, yet again?

She wore a gown by Adam Selman and left very little to the imagination by covering her modesty in just a barely there nude thong. If the whole thing weren’t so naked, I would’ve loved the look – what with her showgirl-like headgear and sparkle everywhere, she manages to look fierce even in the buff.

To make it in Bollywood, you must be able to tick a few things off a checklist – the basics being acting and dancing. You also need to look good and bonus points, if you can sing well too – I mean look at Priyanka Chopra. Apart from all this, it’s imperative to dress the part and Kiara Advani seems to know this all too well.

Her movie hasn’t released as yet so I can’t say much about the acting and dancing (not to mention the singing). But from what I’ve seen at all the press events she’s made it to so far, the girl knows her clothes. From what we hear, and from the trailers of Fugly, her character is a bit of a rebel – she gets grungy in dhoti pants, fringe ganjis and distressed denims. In real life, Kiara has, what I call a ‘split personality dress sense’. One day she’s boho and then next she eccentrically geek-chic – which is great!

Sonakshi Sinha and Akshay Kumar on the sets of Jhalak Dikhla Jaa

We spotted the stars of Holiday, Sonakshi Sinha and Akshay Kumar, on the sets of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa the other day promoting their movie, which releases tomorrow. Now I can’t tell whether they were dressed in character or not. Sonakshi, for one, looks great in her deep purple embroidered Nupur Kanoi outfit. The topknot and the earrings go quite well with the whole look. Not to forget the lovely pointy toe pumps she’s got on. She was styled by Sakshi Mehra.

Akshay Kumar on the other hand… if you look at his top half, he looks good. Effortless and comfortable – but good. It’s the bottom half that I have a problem with. Why is the leg of your tracks pulled up on one side, Akshay? And the bigger question is, why does that leg look all smooth and waxed?

And we’re back! Just about two more episodes left. That one week when we were devoid of any Game of Thrones gave us severe withdrawal symptoms. So being this close to having to wait another year for the next season is going to kill us – this much I’m sure of.

If George R.R. Martin is on a spree to kill off all the hot men in Westeros, what are we going to be left with to look at? Now that Prince (Charming) Oberyn got popped as easily as bubble wrap by The Mountain, we’re only left with Jon Snow (be still my heart) and the ever sexy, Daario Naharis. In other news, sweet, naïve Sansa Stark has finally snapped and I can’t wait to see all the evil she unleashes. Much like her sister Arya Stark – who else laughed as hard as she did? Not such a great week for The Hound or his brother clearly. Let’s take a look at who wore what.

Karl Lagerfeld

Karl Lagerfeld can be accused of a lot of things – narcissism, political incorrectness, insensitivity towards fat people – but to be accused of plagiarism… now that’s a shocker! The double whammy shocker is that the party filing the lawsuit is the retro sneaker company, New Balance!

Uncle Karl is a fashion giant and one of the biggest designers in the industry – but according to New Balance, he has blatantly knocked off their trademark trainer to the dot, including the placement of the logo, only to replace its block lettered N with a K for his eponymous label. (To my eye, however, there are a number of differences between Karl Lagerfeld and New Balance’s designs.)

New Balance states that the kicks have been a company classic since the ’70s, and Karl’s adaptation of their design will cause confusion among their consumers. This, despite the price difference of a little more than $200 between the two styles!

The current trend in the luxury industry is paying homage to unglamorous everyday objects, and I feel New Balance has been a bit hasty in dragging Karl Lagerfeld to the courts. With sneakers quickly becoming the hottest ‘it’ accessory, Karl’s version could be just the boost the trainer company could use to pull it out from the ‘grandfather shoe’ zone!

In a very fashionable turn of events, it seems that Gisele Bündchen has been roped in to present the trophy to the winning team of the FIFA World Cup! The Brazilian supermodel who is also the highest paid model in the world was asked to do the honours – And it doesn’t end there!

The trophy will be brought to the Maracana stadium in Rio de Janeiro in a custom made Louis Vuitton case. This isn’t the first time Louis Vuitton has designed the case for FIFA, they did it in 2010 too. Here’s what it looked like.
