While the aftermath of day 4 at New York Fashion Week SS 18 resulted in a good Wangover, day 5 gave us an insane fashion high! Prabal Gurung, Victoria Beckham and Fenty Puma by Rihanna were the top 3 shows that we couldn’t stop raving about. Speaking of raving, here are all the dazzling stars from day 5 below. 1. Victoria Beckham

The SS 18 collection stood true to its aesthetics with some creative yet clean silhouettes combined with a demure colour palette. Victoria really has brought some inspiring looks for a stylish summer to the fore.

2. Prabal Gurung

The designs were inspired by pearl-diving mermaids, re-imagined them through a feminist lens. Prabal’s vision came to life with some spectacular mix of prints and textures.

Leanne Marshall‘s collection brought us to the best part of summer with enchanting silhouettes and mesmerizing hues in marine and mustard. Even the abstract prints spelled good vibes all over.

Their inspiration was that a girl goes to Capri to for the first time, and the whole lineup entailed the things she might wear for different occasions there. Texture played a major role in this collection with the different textiles and silhouettes presented.

Sparkle, sparkle… everywhere! The shiny sequins were unexpectedly juxtaposed with silk slip dress and heavy-duty leather jackets. This tactile play worked for the dramatics with silhouettes reminiscing the ’70s and ’80s.

Maryam Nassir Zadeh had a race track but the easy-breezy summer separates had an altogether different vibe to them. The fact that we could mix-and-match anything from the lineup was so relatable to a girl on the go.

Supermodel Cindy Crawford‘s daughter Kaia Gerber finally takes her first steps towards a promising modelling career as she debuts at New York Fashion Week this year. It all started with her fierce runway debut at Calvin Klein’s SS18, which followed by her opening for Alexander Wang‘s #WangFest. She has bagged some major shows this year at NYFW and is already a buzz on social media for being an absolute stunner on the runway!

All the designers also seem to like her as they can see that she got it from her mama! Born with the model genes, this girl has a bright future. We’d say, she’s already a major hit on the runway as she was seen in the most anticipated shows of NYFW this year.

Indian-born American sensation Padma Lakshmi looked like a reining beauty on the red carpet of Vogue Women of The Year Awards 2017. The dusky diva flaunted a fiery red gown from J. Gaurav Gupta x IMB Sari Gown

While the red carpet of Vogue Women Of The Year 2017 was all about some major glam, the dazzle did not end there. The host of the night Archie Panjabi was dressed in a Gaurav Gupta gown that looked like his usual style of structured silhouettes in modest hues. But as the night unravelled we noticed that this was no ordinary gown.

For the first time ever, an Indian designer collaborated with IBM Watson to create one of a kind gown using AI. The world’s first Artificial Intelligence-inspired sari-gown was a unique balance of future tech and traditional roots (the Indian sari). IBM Watson analysed the twitter profiles of the 19 winners and identified 7 different personality traits. These traits were assigned a unique colour using generally accepted guides around colour and psychology.

We were all waiting to see the red carpet drama Lady Gaga brings at the 60th Annual Grammy Awards and boy, the wait was worth it! She was all dolled up in a custom-made Armani Privé lace gown that had the longest train on the red carpet. She needed an army of people helping her navigate on the red carpet with that massive train behind her.

Knowing Gaga’s style, we were not surprised with the way she made an entrance but we were surprised after we ‘figured out’ her OOTN later. While at first, we all praised her gown, later as the night folded out, we came to know that it was a jumpsuit IRL, which was paired with a massively long-trained skirt with a dangerously high slit. Trust Lady Gaga to give us a not-so-simple red carpet look worth remembering for a long, long time.

Deepika Padukone is our new sunshine girl. Gracing the February issue of Vogue India, Deepika looks as happy and as shiny as a kid in a candy store. And speaking of candy, are you looking at her rainbow-inspired outfit? The Padmaavat star wears a sequinned shirt from Ashish, styled by Anaita Shroff Adajania with a pair of red briefs from Lolli. Hairstylist Yianni Tsapatori gave her voluminous waves and makeup artist Anil C opted for a bright red lip colour.

In an interview with Vogue India, Deepika mentioned her journey with battling depression. She says;

For various reasons, there’s a stigma attached to mental illness, which is why people choose not to talk about it. There were several reasons I chose to speak up. One, because it transformed my life in many ways. It was the most difficult experience I’ve been through, but it also taught me a lot about myself and about life…
